Our story
The Nest Collective began with a simple belief — that every pēpi in Aotearoa deserves a warm, safe start in life. What started as a small group of volunteers has grown into a nationwide community of crafters, donors and supporters helping thousands of whānau each year.

The Beginning
When a nationwide baby charity suddenly closed, founder Natalia recognised a growing need and was determined to ensure vulnerable families and new babies would continue to receive support. In the midst of a global pandemic, she brought together a group of passionate volunteers united by a shared vision: that every baby in Aotearoa deserves a safe and supported start.

The Nest Collective is Born
In February 2021, The Nest Collective officially launched. Communities rallied behind the charity, donating baby items while volunteers worked alongside local partners to create and gift free baby packs to families in need. Branches in Auckland, Gisborne, Kāpiti, Wellington and Christchurch soon began supporting whānau across their regions.

Growing the Nest
The Nest Collective expanded with the launch of a Dunedin branch, extending support to families across Otago and Southland. As the need grew, so did the collective of volunteers, donors and community partners helping make a difference.

Five Years On
Today, The Nest Collective supports thousands of babies and families across Aotearoa each year. What began as a grassroots response to a community need has grown into a nationwide movement powered by generosity, aroha and hope. Five years on, we remain committed to ensuring every baby has the essentials they need and every family feels supported during the critical first year of their baby’s life.
